Rhian Jones serves as a Design Coordinator, acting as the interface between the site team, commercial team, subcontractors, design team, and client. In this role, Rhian ensures that the design progresses in a buildable and cost-effective manner. From tender through to project completion, Rhian drives the build process while simultaneously managing sustainability processes such as BREEAM, WIRED, and WELL. Additionally, responsibilities include overseeing procedures related to building control and the Building Safety Act, ensuring these aspects are addressed effectively. Throughout the process, Rhian also works closely with the client, securing their approval and engagement at each stage.

Rhian Jones completed a BSc (Hons) in Architectural Engineering & Design Management at Loughborough University. During a career fair at Loughborough, she met Simon Morrall, SDC's Estimating Manager. Following their discussion, she applied to work for SDC and secured the position after two interviews. Rhian took a gap year after her second year at university to work in SDC's Design department. SDC sponsored her final year of university, and upon completing her degree, she joined the company full-time.

Rhian Jones is currently working on the Merlin Place project in Cambridge. With work now underway on-site, Rhian closely with the site team because there’s certain elements of the design that need to be tailored to conditions found on site. In managing the design on-site, Rhian addresses current issues as well as upcoming challenges. Her role involves managing changes, coordinating the release of information, and managing the quality of information involved in her role.
