Main Projects

Main Projects is the oldest and largest division within the SDC Group, accounting for approximately 75% of the company’s annual turnover. The division carries out work across a wide variety of market sectors, predominantly on a design and build basis, with construction values ranging from £3m to £80m.

Operating out of both Bedford and Oxford, every project undertaken by the Main Projects division is overseen by a core team of highly trained construction professionals with additional support provided by standalone health and safety, design, M&E and BIM departments. Having access to this wealth of resource means that Main Projects can not only contribute to each stage of the project lifecycle by acting as both a consultant and a contractor, but also add value through the development of innovative, client-focused initiatives. Recent examples of such initiatives include the use of virtual-reality walkthroughs for better client engagement; the construction of full-size mock-up panels for enhanced quality control; and the development of 4D models to improve programming and sequencing techniques.

What is most unique, however, is the fact that a large number of employees within the Main Projects division have been with the company for more than a decade. This long-service has allowed each member of staff to become fully accustomed to SDC’s collaborative and problem-solving approach to project delivery. As such, every prospective client can be safe in the knowledge that they will receive the same user-friendly service, regardless of which team is selected to manage the works.
