Building the Future through Innovation
Consolidation Centres
SDC operates two consolidation centres in Eynsham, Oxfordshire, and Caxton, Cambridgeshire, where surplus materials are stored and redistributed to reduce waste and improve supply chain efficiency. The Caxton site, a seven-acre hub, features specialised areas for storage, carpentry workshops, a CITB-accredited training suite, and custom lorries to ensure efficient urban deliveries. This depot is also used for constructing sample panels, a method used for understanding complex interfaces and establishing quality benchmarks on-site. The Eynsham centre, constructed sustainably using modular units, functions as both a storage facility and a regional office, demonstrating our commitment to innovation and environmental responsibility.

In-House Plant Division
Bedford Plant Hire supports SDC projects with an extensive, modern inventory of plant and machinery, ensuring quick access to equipment. Committed to sustainability, we feature electric plant supported by charging points at our Bedford office. Deliveries are made with FORS-registered vehicles, ensuring safety, efficiency, and environmental sustainability, while meeting the needs of our projects quickly and reliably.

3D / VR Capabilities
Our team of CAD and VR Designers at SDC brings construction proposals to life. We specialise in using 3D modelling to explore value engineering, develop programme strategies, assess health and safety risks, and resolve logistical constraints. This approach is especially beneficial at the programme and methodology stages, where visualisations help us refine solutions and enhance project planning.
In-House Expertise
SDC’s in-house Design Department includes an Architect and two Structural Engineers, who can be utilised to explore alternative design solutions, focusing on buildability and value engineering. This support is provided without disrupting the day-to-day activities of the client’s design team.
SDC handles BIM management in-house to effectively deliver construction projects that adhere to BIM standards, including PAS1192 and ISO19650. We develop customised BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) aligned with client objectives, promoting efficient information management and reducing unnecessary processes.

Modern Methods of Construction
Our approach to Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) is centred on embracing innovative, efficient, and sustainable building techniques. Whether its off-site manufacturing, or timber frame construction we aim to transform traditional practices by leveraging advanced technologies, prefabrication, and modular systems to deliver high-quality, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly solutions.
