Our design management resource is highly valued on every project

Over the past five years, SDC’s Design Department has experienced substantial growth. While this expansion aligns with the overall growth of the business, the design management resource remains a vital asset on every project. Our dedicated team of 30 design coordinators and managers adopts a proactive, detail-focused approach, remaining fully involved throughout the entire project lifecycle.

Given that the majority of SDC projects are secured through Design & Build contracts, often with complex requirements, the expertise and strength of our design resource is pivotal to the success of any project.

Under the guidance of Josh Goodwin, our design department has implemented streamlined processes and procedures that ensure the spaces we create are thoughtfully planned and adequately resourced to meet specific needs. This continuous refinement of our approach ensures that each project receives the right level of design focus and expertise.

Expanded Design Expertise

SDC provides more than just design management. Our in-house team of architects and engineers offers essential support during the preconstruction and construction phases. Additionally, our advanced Building Information Modelling (BIM) capabilities allow us to take full control of a project’s BIM model, ensuring seamless integration across all disciplines. Our in-house 3D and 4D modelling and animation resources bring every phase of a project to life, from tender through to planning and beyond.

SDC offers an extensive range of resources to support our projects, including:

Sustainability: Led by Ian Riley-Brown, our sustainability team ensures projects meet high environmental standards, including BREEAM, WELL, and WIRED certifications.

Common Data Environment (CDE): We utilise our company-owned CDE to manage and store all design information, facilitating smooth data flow and efficient communication across teams.

In-House O&M Resources: We provide tailored operations and maintenance services, with plans to expand through the development of a digital platform.
